Introduction
All employers must comply with the many Health and Safety laws. These laws include the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, and all of the associated Regulations. Some of these legal documents are lengthy and complex, and many business owners get confused as to what they need to do to comply.
Many companies don’t have a Health and Safety officer – but they still need to comply with the legislation. At ACVO we have a dedicated HSE department that can help you to comply with your legal obligations. We have been providing various Health & Safety services to many local organisations since 2002. See the column on the right for a sample of our current clients.
How we do this?
We offer a system that allows organisations to purchase only the required amount of time they need of a qualified Health and Safety professional – rather than employing one. Time is purchased at an hourly rate for you to receive just the services you need. You may also find it useful to know that ACVO provides a funding advice service. ACVO Funding Advice .
What we offer?
We have a range of Health and Safety services available to suit all organisations needs. These include:
- Health and Safety training courses
- Attendance at your safety meetings
- Risk Assessment assistance and examination
- Audit of your Health and Safety system
- Help and assistance by phone or email
Our training courses
ACVO provide a number of training courses designed to help you comply with your organisations Health and Safety obligations. For more information visit our Training Courses Page
Who can access the services?
Anyone can access our training courses, but organisations must be a member of ACVO to access the other services (e.g. attending your safety meetings). For further information on how to join ACVO, please visit our membership page.
Accidents and Incidents at Work
Many companies have numerous accidents at work which cost them dearly. Although your employers liability insurance will cover the cost of a payout if an injured employee / member of the public / contractor, etc successfully makes a claim against your company, there are lots of uninsured costs associated with this that are not covered.
