Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre - July 2011

Citizens of Aberdeen are invited to find out more about the voluntary/third sector and their volunteering opportunities at the Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre on Saturday 2nd July 2011 at the Music Hall, Aberdeen from 10am to 3pm.

The event, organised by Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations, drew in over 800 people last year to celebrate the THIRD SECTOR.

Citizens are able to talk to organisations and groups, join in on the activities, and find out what is on offer in the Sector and take away some valuable information.

There are over 800 charities in Aberdeen City alone and over 45,000 people involved in the third/voluntary sector in Aberdeen and this showcase event captured a snapshot of the brilliant and varied work going on in the sector.

Sell Out Success - Bookings Now Closed

This year’s Fayre is set to be the biggest and the best yet with all of the stalls selling out in record time.

Almost fifty local charities and voluntary groups have signed up to man stands at the event at The Music Hall.

Insight Aberdeen is a chance for organisations to showcase the valuable and varied work which they carry out around the city. This year’s participants include groups which provide training, advice, and practical and emotional support to all aspects of Aberdeen’s community including children and young families, over 55s, veterans, those with disabilities, people with long term or terminal illnesses, ethnic minority groups, and the homeless.

Insight Aberdeen is also an ideal opportunity for members of the public to find out more about volunteering with or fundraising for local groups, or just to pick up some goodies and information.

Adding to the gala atmosphere, there will be on-stage entertainment on the hour throughout the day including a multi-ethnic hip hop dance group, music by Music 4 U and a performance by Aberdeen Youth Choir.
