Events > Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre

Please note: This will be an annual summer event, register your interest in next years event.

Citizens of Aberdeen were invited to find out more about the voluntary/third sector and their volunteering opportunities at the Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre on Saturday 3rd July 2010 at the Music Hall (10am to 3pm).

The event which was organised by Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations drew in over 800 people on the day.  The day started off with a bang on Union Street with Street Drummers (Guarana) who attracted a lot of attention and then played into the Music Hall to start off the fayre and celebrate the THIRD SECTOR.

Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre

Citizens were able to talk to organisations and groups, join in on the activities, and find out what is on offer in the Sector and take away some valuable information.

There are over 800 charities in Aberdeen City alone and over 45,000 people involved in the third/voluntary sector in Aberdeen and this showcase event captured a snapshot of the brilliant and varied work going on in the sector.
